Peter Duval

Peter Duval was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire in 1966. On leaving school, he joined Hall & Kay Engineering Ltd where he spent three years working as an apprentice welder and pipe fitter on a number of projects. Peter's introduction into the fire protection industry was during his time spent on the El Amira textile plant in Alexandria, Egypt where he worked on all aspects of sprinklers from pre-fabrication to installation through to design and commissioning procedures to completion and project handover.

On leaving Hall & Kay, Peter worked for several multinational mechanical and electrical contractors including MF Kent where he was responsible for the management of mechanical services to the Toyota Car Plant in Derbyshire. In 1993, he was seconded to take up a commercial management position for the company at the Hoddesden power station in Hertfordshire.

After taking sabbatical leave from the industry, Peter was approached in 1999 to assist in the development of low pressure water-mist systems. In 2000, in collaboration with Saffire Fire Products, a range of highly effective fire extinguishers were developed and tested using water mist spray jets. These extinguishers at the time held the highest accredited ratings for this type of extinguisher anywhere in the UK.

In 2003, Peter became managing director of the UK's largest water mist provider which was one of the first companies to progress the technology of low pressure water mist fixed systems. He was instrumental in the evolution and progression of this fire suppression technology over the past decade and created a company with an infrastructure which was entirely self-sufficient.

Peter is first and foremost a family man. His interests inlcude; fitness, football and family (not always in that order).
